boxing day bargain, from me to you

I found myself contemplating this sass & bide tank on their website, and was ready to take the plunge when I found it on the General Pants website for half the price!

Don't you love it when that happens!

I hope you all got v v spoilt x

P.S. If the above top reminds you too much of 2007/2008's "fluoro debacle" it's OK, I get it.
But much like post the 80's blue eyeshadow mentality, when everyone alive in the world at that time swore off its evil, 2009 rolled around and it became clear it wasn't the colour that's the problem, but the way you wear it.

So when it comes to neon sartorial choices, do yourself a favour and don't wear it to music festivals, don't wear it with reflective stickers, and please refraining from raving in said garments. I really can't stress that point enough. Don't do it.

pointed post

In circa 2006, I think I swore off pointed heels forever. There were just too many of those pointed kitten heel pumps going around - with that gathered leather at the toe, sort of pleated? You remember. Anyway at at point I swore to myself that I hate pointed heels, and I would never be caught dead in them.

But a cool 5 years later and I'm well and truly on the pointed pump train once again. Decidedly more chic and less kitten-oriented, I love this look with skinny jeans, tailored pants or even the right dress.

Mandatory features:
- no platform under the toe (quickly becoming mandatory for all my footwear choices)
- either completely flat (usually boots) or minimum 3 inch heel
- give me pleated leather/pleather and you give me death

Some (thoroughly) acceptable choices:

1 & 2. Nowhere

3. Alexander Wang

4 & 5. Isabel Marant

6. Celine

7 & 8. Prada (photos courtesy of Style By Kling)

neon: it's like fluro except it's good

Ok, you caught me - there was no part two of my net-a-porter wish list. My laptop was AWOL (work Christmas party resulting in my things being left behind). So, in apology, I present to you possible the best new partnership in this festive season. Neon + denim.

Potentially controversial but I think, amazing.

Now, despite these two images coming from normally well curated sites, I think the styling in these shots is awful, and at this point you're ready to write me off. But bear with me...

Convinced? I hope so.

molten love

If you're no stranger to this blog, then you'll be no stranger to Molten Store, and certainly no stranger to my gushing over the its delectable offerings. From raw crystal formations etched in silver, to delicately woven necklaces, to the sweetest diaries and printed canvas bags I've ever laid my e-tailing eyes on.

Well, exciting news is brewing! Jessy Cameron, Molten Store director, who seems by all accounts to be the very definition of lovely, is launching Molten Store's own range, to be named Molten Relic

Sigh, crush. Love everything. Launches Thursday, I will (literally) be getting my hands on this ahhmazing clutch.

Seriously beautiful, bohemian, delicate pieces I can't wait to add to my wardrobe. By which I mean, my jewellery box.

All the pieces are amazingly well priced too, so you can thank me later

christmas presents

So I bought myself an early Christmas present. Isn't he beautiful? I was always always always going to purchase a Wang Diego bag (rather than the Rocco you see here) but since I bought myself a big ol' Powershot camera I wanted a bag large enough to fit my camera with case.

So the Rocco won out. Still love the Diego though...I'm thinking one day I'll purchase it in this AMAZING colour.

one day!

Ridiculous shoes I traipsed through Europe with in my bag, refusing to wear them until I got back to Australia (7 months later). Worth it

metallic moment

I'm prepared to admit what I'm about to say, I will probably look back on as a fashion error in years to come. But, as usual, I'm not too fussed and I can deal with future me's harsh judgements tomorrow (it's reasoning like that makes me hate past me).

But I'm having a serious metallic moment. In particular, metallic denim. Resisting serious urge to buy a can of spray pant and take it to some old Tsubi's. Below, my current two favourites at two different price points.

High rise metallic skinny pants, by Alexander Wang, $497 at Net-a-Porter

Moto Metallic Glitter Hotpants by Topshop, $53 at Topshop

If the sheer class of the name description alone doesn't sell it to you, I'm envisioning this with a baggy white singlet and wide brim fedora and ankle boots stomping around Coachella. Does that visual make you feel better about it?

I'm hoping this moment passes soon. No I don't. Yes I do. No, I don't.

poppy love

Maybe I'm behind the eight ball, but I only just discovered Australian designer Poppy Lissiman late last week.

I can't speak for her past collections but her S/S11/12 is just insane. A small but amazing collection that I am just obsessed with. That skirt is a work of art.
Enjoy...

In love with that last look. Scratch that, it's negotiably all needed in my wardrobe. Eep. We need more Poppy Lissiman in our lives...
