In probably one of my more mistimed fashion moments, lately I've been so inspired by the bright colours and life in Spanish style clothing, and I'm not the only one. Designers have been showing collections with not just Spanish, but South American cultural influences, and sadly it's got me a little summer crazy. Gucci's bronzed goddesses clad in bright oranges and deep purples (you all know the dress I'm talking about), and six foot models stomping down the runways in delicious turquoise have me obsessed, riiight before Australia decides to descend into winter.
Alright, so as usual Gucci goes heavy on the luxe, light on genuine Spanish extravaganza, but they're not the only ones who are going Viva la Revolution on the catwalks. I don't know, maybe it's my subconscious (read: my mother) trying to tell me to make up for all these years I've spent swathed in black, but I'm in love with this trend. Want to replicate but have got the cash to buy those edible purple Gucci trousers? Here are some of my favourites that don't have you loosening your morals to pay for them...
Soludos espadrilles. I loooove them in bright tones but the plain white is just as good for those lazy afternoons spent on our private 70 foot yachts. Check yourself; $33 a pair.
I know I'm getting a little pink all over this post but I couldn't not include (double negative, what of it), these pencil trousers from Zara. It is, at this point, if you're wondering, that you need to recruit a pen friend in the UK who can post you these babies for gratis. Double points as they're duo-hemisphere appropriate this time of year.
We're in danger of heading into ra-ra territory here, but never fear, I wouldn't do that to you. These skirts by Suno make me so happy and won't completelyy break the bank/send you out to the corner to sell your wares. NB: the whole Suno Fall 2010 & SS 11 RTW collections are worth a look over/cry over. Here's hoping your winter wardrobes see some colour this year.
